Today, nearly one-third of Nigeria’s deep-water production comes from the Bonga and Erha fields. Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo, Shell interest 100%) pioneered deep-water oil and gas production from the Bonga field in the Gulf of Guinea where depths reach more than 1,000 metres.

A deep-water project off Nigeria’s coast has brought much-needed jobs, training and business for local people. The Bonga project helped create the first generation of Nigerian oil and gas engineers with deep water experience and stimulated the growth of support industries. Ronald is a thirty-two-year veteran of the energy industry having successfully guided both Shell operated and non-operated ventures through commercial and technical challenges. He holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of the West Indies and an MBA with a specialisation in Strategic Planning from Herriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland. Outside of work, Ron loves to spend time with his family and frequents the gym.
