Shell Nigeria Gas Ltd is a fully owned Shell company incorporated in 1998 for the downstream distribution of gas to industries in Nigeria. Its mission is to provide manufacturing and industrial customers with a clean, reliable, low-cost alternative to liquid fuel, and to assist in building a stronger Nigerian economy.
SNG currently operates a growing world class gas transmission and distribution network of over 138km in Nigeria. It operates several distribution systems including Agbara-Ota in Ogun state, the Aba Cluster in Abia State, and the Port Harcourt Cluster in Rivers State. The company is in a growth phase and recently increased its gas distribution capacity by over 150% ensuring its gas distribution networks are capable of distributing over 150 mmscf/d of dry processed gas to over 300 industrial customers. Today over a 100 industrial customers are already connected to these gas grids. SNG also has a strong relationship with virtual pipeline operators keen on developing compressed natural gas (CNG) and mini-LNG grids across all regions of Nigeria.
Our operations directly impact the local population through our direct social investments in education, road safety, and community health. The value chain we sustain improves internally generated revenues and creates thousands of jobs for Nigerians.
SNG has built a reputation for safety and credibility and is the only gas distribution company in Nigeria whose facility is ISO 14001:2015 certified.

SNG’s distribution network currently spans three (3) main geographical locations in Nigeria namely Ogun State, Abia State, and Rivers State.

In 2018, SNG made a remarkable breakthrough by increasing its supply capacity for the Agbara/Ota axis by 150%; 42mmscf/d to 102mmscf/d. The Agbara/Ota Capacity Increase Project (ACIP), the PRMS train achieved first gas in March, 2018.
SNG successfully commissioned a gas station for its 100th industrial customer, a service manufacturers for fast moving consumer goods (FMCGs) in Nigeria that employs over 100 local people and provides services to about 45 other companies in Nigeria. This is a significant landmark that comes on the heels of the recent expansion of SNG domestic gas distribution capacity by 150%.
SNG is committed to delivering benefits to communities in its area of operations through social investments. This is achieved by collaborating with government, communities and civil societies. SNG co-sponsored the Mind Games 2018 chess and scrabble tournament which held at the Lagos Country Club.
